Manual Demolition in Toronto
Some jobs have no room for a big machine. A semi that shares a wall. A shop that stays open while one room is torn out. Our manual demolition crews take these buildings apart by hand, step by step, without damaging what stays.
What Is Manual Demolition?
Hand tools, a trained crew, and a teardown that comes apart one piece at a time.

Manual demolition means we take a building apart with hand tools and small power tools instead of a big machine. We work from the top down and the inside out, one piece at a time. It is slower than using a machine, but it gives us a lot more control. It is one of the main demolition services we offer in Toronto.
Most of our manual demolition work in Toronto is in older areas, where homes share walls and lots are small. A machine can’t swing safely next to a shared wall or inside a building people are still using. Doing it by hand is safer for everything nearby. When the lot is open and the whole building is coming down, we use machine demolition instead.
When to Choose Manual Demolition
Four jobs where we’ll tell you to leave the excavator at the yard.
Shared and party walls
Semis and row houses where your wall is also your neighbour’s. One wrong hit could damage their home, so we cut, pry and carry it out by hand instead.
Buildings that stay open
A restaurant redoing one dining room. An office changing a floor. We block off the dust, keep the exits clear and work around your hours.
Heritage and detailed work
Older buildings where some parts must stay and some have to go. Working by hand lets us stop right where the plans say.
Salvage jobs
Old brick, solid beams, trim you can’t buy anymore. If it’s worth keeping, we take it out in one piece and set it aside for you.

Manual, Interior & Selective Demolition Services
From a single wall to a full interior, done carefully and cleaned up every day.
Interior Strip-Outs
We gut a unit or a floor down to the shell. Walls, ceilings, flooring, kitchens, all of it. What’s left is clean and ready for your contractor.
Selective Demolition
The drawings mark what goes and what stays, and we follow them. Common on renovations and additions where new work meets old.
Structural Removals
Load-bearing walls and supports come out with shoring in place, planned with your engineer before anyone picks up a tool.
Partial Demolition
A rear wing, a top floor, a garage off the house. We take down the part you don’t want and protect the part you do.
Abatement First
Homes built before the 1990s often hide asbestos. We test and clear it with our own asbestos removal crew before demolition starts.
Sorting and Haul-Away
Debris gets sorted on site. What can be recycled is. The rest goes to the right facility, and we sweep up before we leave.

Our Manual Demolition Process
A clear order of work that keeps the job safe and the neighbours on side.
Step 1
Site Walk-Through
We visit the property, look at the structure and the access, and work out exactly what the job needs. No guessing from photos.
Step 2
Quote and Planning
We give you a clear quote, then handle the permits, hazard testing, and safety planning before day one.
Step 3
Hand Demolition
Utilities off, floors covered, dust walls up, anything staying braced. Then we take it down top-down and clean the site every day.
Step 4
Clean-Up and Site Ready
We haul the last load, sweep, and walk the site with you, so it’s clean and ready for your contractor to start.

Manual Demolition FAQs
Is manual demolition more expensive than machine demolition?
Per hour, yes. For the whole job, often no. On a tight site, doing it by hand saves you the broken fence, the cracked neighbour’s wall and the repair bills you get when a machine is forced into a space that’s too small. When both ways work, we’ll price both so you can compare.
Can you work while my business stays open?
Yes, and it’s one of the main reasons people call us. We put up dust barriers, keep noise to agreed hours, and keep exits clear. Plenty of our strip-outs happen behind a wall while customers shop on the other side of it.
Do I need a permit for interior demolition in Toronto?
Usually, yes. Most work that touches structure or plumbing needs a permit, and interior jobs are no exception. We’ll tell you exactly what your project needs and handle the application for you.
Can you save brick, beams, or fixtures for reuse?
Tell us before we quote. If you want something saved, we take it out carefully and set it aside instead of binning it. It changes the pace of the work, so it gets priced up front, not argued about later.
What if the building has asbestos or mould?
Common in anything built before the 1990s. We test first. If asbestos, mould, or lead shows up, our abatement crew clears it before demolition begins. One company, one schedule, no finger-pointing between trades.
